Debbie Maronik

Debbie Maronik has been involved in the fashion industry for most of her life. She began teaching at Lakehead in 1979, and after graduating from Toronto’s Seneca College in 1980, became one of the founding members of the Modeling Association of Canada, (MAOC).

In 1984 Debbie became a partner at Lakehead Modeling with her mother, Pat Potts. After 10 successful years with the Modeling Association of Canada, Debbie was elected President in 1990. Under Debbie’s leadership, MAOC enshrined itself as a leader in the Canadian modeling industry. After her mother’s retirement in 1992, Debbie also became President of Lakehead Modeling.

Over the past 35 years, Debbie has helped launch the careers of countless models across Canada. In Northwestern Ontario, Lakehead models have signed contracts in key fashion and entertainment centers such as Paris, Hamburg, Milan, Tokyo, London and Los Angeles to name but a few.
